Can’t find those running shoes that are just right for you? Do you compromise comfort in favour of style or visa versa?
If so, then those boffins at Nike HQ have come up with just the thing for you!
The Nike iD website provides a fun and easy way for users to customise and buy footwear and other fitness gear by transforming the visitor into a designer, allowing you to apply your own choice of colors and materials to a broad range of shoes, bags and other equipment.
The footwear designer gives the user the most freedom allowing you to customize running shoes to meet your needs from a size, fit and aesthetics standpoint.
So for example if you see yourself as less of a ‘fitness freak’ and more ‘fitness unique’ because you have one foot slightly bigger than the other, you can accommodate this by selecting various sizes for either your left or right shoe. Likewise, you can also create a shoe for both the narrow, wide and ‘normal’ foot as well as selecting a smooth or firm cushion depending on the type of surface you run on.
But it is the customisation of the style that is really going to appeal, allowing you to customize everything from the laces and logo to the inner lining. You can even add your initials, name or other personal information to each shoe.
