One of Fitness TV's members tries out BMF!

british military fitnessOne of our Fitness TV members, Harry, emailed us about his new found love for a new craze called BMF, the UK's largest outdoor fitness provider... And demanded that we share it with you!

"Working in the media, it is always a good idea to try and look your best. So I started hitting the gym with my good friends and began to shape up and develop my muscles.

I think it's very important to exercise with people. If you work out alone and are not deeply motivated, it is far too easy to shirk each exercise, and nothing will change.

Anyway, such is the media life that jobs and money come and go and I found myself with a quite well developed set of pecs, awesome guns and a totally empty bank account!

Naturally, the best way to conserve money is not to spend it... or not so much of it anyway! So, at close to £100 a month, the Gym membership was the first to go. I thought that I could keep up my appearance by doing push-ups at home and running. I was wrong!...

The problem was not the exercises, but the willpower. Sweating alone in a room with no one to share witty banter with is not my idea of fun! I needed something that got me out the house. Something cheap and sociable that really worked... and I found it!

I had not been exercising for a full year and was at my heaviest of 13.5 stone (85 Kilo) with a full 35-inch waist and no discernable jaw line to speak of (please do excuse the rose, and the gut).

Not getting jobs because of my blubber was starting to take its toll - all I really desired was a rippling six-pack.

I heard about British Military Fitness or BMF through a friend and thought I would give it a try. At just £46 a month with unlimited classes it's a real steal and worth every penny!

Please don't be put off by the "Military" aspect - the instructors are all ex military, but that doesn't mean they shout at you or try and break you until you can't move til the next week. It is all about YOU pushing YOU!

BMF lasts for one hour per session and combines cardio vascular exercise and circuit training with a small amount of muscle building. There is also a full warm down at the end to stop the next-day pain caused by the lactic acid in your muscles. You also get really friendly staff; you meet nice people and best of all, you get to enjoy the great outdoors.

Within the first 6 weeks I lost two inches from my waist and discovered that my jaw line is actually rather chiselled! If you keep it up and try to steer clear of fatty food and too much of the dreaded booze, you will see the weight fall off on daily basis!

I have been going to BMF 3 times a week for a full year now. I weigh around 12 stone (76 Kilo), and I have never been happier.

If anyone ever complains to me that they are too fat, I simply tell them to go to BMF.... It works! (Please do excuse the paint, wasn't my intention to get covered, however this is the best 'after photo' by far)".
