Sports Bras - Did you know?
According to the experts, up to 85% of women are wearing the wrong-sized bra every day, including whilst doing sport. Ouch!
Now, ladies need to wear a good sports bra, not only for comfort, but because bouncing during exercise can result in premature sagging. (And no one wants that!) There are no muscles in your breasts, so they need all the help they can get.
For many women (especially the big-busted ladies), you will know if you're running for the bus, on a running machine or jumping up and down with the kids, it can be incredibly uncomfortable. So, it's important we get extra support when we exercise, for the comfort and protection of our assets.
Good sports bras work by compressing the bust close to the rib cage for maximum movement. They also need to provide total coverage, the fabric should be comfortable and absorbent, smooth against your skin without any rough seams or bindings (the last thing you want is to be itching away or sore under your armpits during exercising), strong and wide straps to support the breasts and prevent the bounce and the under-band should be firm around your body, to prevent it from riding up your back.
Finally, when testing sports bras, it's vital to do the ‘bounce' test. Just remember, the bra is supposed to reduce the bounce - if you're still bouncing, you need to try another size or make which will suit you better.
My top two favourites in the sports bra department are:
Casall Sports Bra - Supremely comfortable; comes in glorious colours; racer back so you can wear racer back tops; supportive and it looks amazing. I have even worn it out underneath tops because it looks great and is so comfortable! I have owned several Casall bras over the years, and I still have them all - amazingly they are in the same condition as when I first bought them. A fabulous must have.
Shock Absorber Bra - Another one of my favourites is the Shock Absorber Bra - mine is the Pump Sports Bra. Again, it looks great on, very supportive, has removable padding (ensuring a snug fit for girls with small or large breasts) and is great value for money.
