Welcome to The Big Workout - Motivation & Support Forum

I started last week, I'm getting married and want to tone up and improve my fitness level. This weeks workout was great, I found last weeks a little slow but, I can't wait to do the next one! Hi there, Congratulations on your up-coming wedding!! Just a thought that maybe of use to try also- Try out working out in the morning (before work or the rush of the day) to Fitness TV's 'Wake Up With' classes. This would be great way to start your day, get your metabolism on turbo-charge, and will make you mentally want to get healthy for the rest of the day.

How to enjoy exercise..

Hi, I'm desperate for some motivational tips on how to get back to the gym and get into a good routine. I know all the benefits and at 61 feel it is essential to maintain strength, suppleness and general fitness. I've not long come out of a horrid 6 years struggling with agoraphobia and part of what helped was getting into a routine of going to the gym 3x a week. Then my dad took ill, came to live with us, walked out, went into hospital then care home and subsequently died - through all this any structure went out of the window. Now I just can't get back there - Help!!!

Help and advice needed please

Thank you Charlie, that is great, I will record them all and give them all the once over and so long as he will be ok/safe doing what is in them I will get him to save them and he can start giving them a go and of course I will give you feedback on how he gets on.The thing is he thinks he can do things and will push himself too far or fall over and hurt himself trying things beyond his capabilities so we have to be careful (we've already had one broken arm!) but the first 2 suggestions sound like they could be perfect for what he is looking for, the third one I am not too sure about from the description you gave, not sure if his balance issues could be a dampener but will look at it anyway. Thanks again for helping, means a

Well done!!

Hi, As a stay-at-home Mum, I'd love to see more routines that I could do with my kids. Maybe something that has an advanced level for the adults, but a simplified version for my kids to do at the same time. Aged 7 & 8, they love to join in, but some of the advanced routines are a bit fast for them!!! Also, I love the ideas of hints & tips of how to keep your motivational levels up. Maybe little bullit points inbetween the programmes?? I love your channel, & love your routines. Thanks so much for providing all this help and advice for everyone. Stephanie xx

The 300 Workout for Women

A friend of mine recently created a version of the '300 Workout' (from the film) for women. Here's what it involves:- '25 pullups (70lbs assisted) 50 deadlifts at 80lbs total 50 push ups STRICT - NO KNEES girls 50 box jumps at least 16" 50 floor wipers 55lbs total (1 left and 1 right = 1 set) 50 clean and press kettlebell 20lbs (25 per side = 50) 25 pullups same as above'. There is the 300 Challenge for Women according to Bonita Posted Image She managed it in 21 minutes 48 seconds - can anyone beat that?
Let myself go :(

I think you've done really well so far! I'd love to quit the fags I know thats holding my fitness levels back. Same advice as above really, bread and pasta does me no favours. I've started having soup for lunch instead of a sandwich and that seems to be helping a lot :)

Family support!

My wife was all mockery when I started. She said I loked "white as a sheet" when I finished. Now she sees an improvement in my appearance and has actually joined in for part of the routine.
