New York deli bagel

Ingredients

New York Bagel
  • 1 bagel
  • 1/2 tbsp light mayonnaise
  • 1/2 tsp yellow or Dijon mustard, or to taste
  • gherkin, chopped
  • Small handful watercress
  • medium slices pastrami

Method

  1. Halve the bagel and lightly toast it if you like. Mix the mayonnaise with the mustard and stir in the chopped gherkin.
  2. Spread it on the bottom half of the bagel and add some watercress.
  3. Add the pastrami, top with the other bagel half and serve, or wrap in greaseproof paper, then foil and take to work.
